Editorial description
Electronic Arts publishes Apex Legends, developed by Respawn Entertainment. The PC game is free to play, with optional in-game purchases that this page does not price. Play needs a persistent internet connection and an EA account, and age rules apply. No version number is stated here.
EA's download article lists three PC install paths: the EA app, Steam, or the Epic Games Store. The FAQ also documents the EA app and Steam, and says Steam progress carries over when the EA account is linked. Do not launch the same account on the EA app and on Steam at the same time. This page does not extend that carry-over claim to the Epic Games Store.
The minimum on EA's PC requirements page is 64-bit Windows 10, an Intel Core i3-6300 at 3.8 GHz or an AMD FX-4350 at 4.2 GHz, 6 GB of RAM, an NVIDIA GTX 950 or AMD Radeon HD 7790, DirectX 12, and 75 GB of disk space. Recommended figures on the same page are 64-bit Windows 10, an Intel i5-3570K or Ryzen 5, 8 GB of RAM, a GTX 970 or Radeon R9 290, and 75 GB. The Steam page says Easy Anti-Cheat is used and must be removed manually after uninstall.
