Opera for Windows
A Chromium-based Windows browser with tab tools, ad and tracker blocking, sync, and an optional browser-only VPN.

Opera combines a familiar Chromium foundation with built-in browsing and organization tools. Version 135.0.5973.142 is the stable Windows build verified on September 16, 2026.
Editorial description
Opera is a general-purpose Windows browser built on Chromium. Its sidebar, Workspaces, Tab Islands, split-screen tools, ad and tracker blocker, and optional browser VPN reduce the need to assemble the same setup from multiple extensions. An Opera Account can synchronize supported browser data, while Flow can move links and files between connected Opera installations.
The integrated tools need context. Opera's free VPN protects traffic inside the browser, not other Windows applications, and synchronization requires an account. Blocking can also interfere with some sites until an exception is added. The stable build receives automatic updates, making Opera a practical choice for people who value tab organization and built-in conveniences, but not a replacement for a device-wide VPN or endpoint security software.
Features
Tab organization
Workspaces, Tab Islands, vertical tabs, and split screen provide several ways to group and compare active pages.
Ad and tracker controls
Built-in blocking can reduce common advertising and tracking requests, with per-site exceptions when a page breaks.
Browser-only VPN
The optional free VPN works without a separate extension and covers Opera traffic only, not the whole device.
Sync and Flow
An Opera Account synchronizes supported browser data, while Flow shares links and files between connected devices.
