How to use Lumen Player on Windows

Open local media, prefer hardware decode when available, and keep streaming logins out of the workflow.

Lumen Player is built for files on your PC. There is no account wall and no bundled streaming service.

Open a file or folder

  1. Launch Lumen Player after install.
  2. Use Open File for a single clip, or drop a folder onto the window when you want a simple queue.
  3. Confirm the status bar shows the decoder in use (software or hardware).

When a format will not play

Convert once with Prism Converter. The converter shows the FFmpeg command before it runs, so you can see the preset instead of guessing.

Subtitles

Sidecar SRT or VTT files can be edited in Subtitle Bench, then placed next to the video with a matching base name.

What it will not do

Lumen Player does not sign into Netflix-style accounts. Keep those sessions in a browser and use this player for local copies you control.
